Talo Guide
The questions nobody answered, in the minutes
How to ask Talo for minutes that say, for each open question, whether it blocks a decision, which one, and who must answer it.
About the screenshots in this guide
Every screenshot in this English guide is a real capture of Talo, currently shown with the Spanish interface (the English interface is on its way). Menus, buttons and labels in the pictures are in Spanish; the surrounding text describes what each one does in English.
Every long meeting ends with something like this: a decision that doesn't get fully made because it depends on someone who wasn't in the room confirming something by a given date. If the minutes just say "open question: check with legal" without saying which decision it affects or who has to answer, that line gets lost by the next meeting. You can ask Talo not to leave it like that.
Steps
- Get the meeting's transcript: record it with Talo (Meetings), or drop an
already-made recording into the project chat so Talo transcribes it in its audio or video notebook.
- In the project's
TALO.md, write down the rule you want the minutes to
follow: "every open question says whether it blocks a decision, which one, whether that decision is already made or still pending, and who has to answer it". It's the same rule the talo-actas-reunion skill follows.
- In a project conversation, ask for the minutes from that transcript:
"write up the minutes for this meeting following our rules, with numbered decisions, an owner and a date for each, and say in open questions whether they block any decision".
- Review the "Decisions" section: each one should have a named owner and a
date, never "the team" or an unconverted relative date.
- Review the "Open questions" section. For each one, the minutes should say
explicitly whether it blocks a decision (and which one), whether that decision is still pending because of it or already made with a caveat, and who has to answer, with a deadline if one was said in the meeting.
- If you ask for it, save the minutes as a project file so it sits next to
the transcript and you can link it from the task board.
Tip
This recipe was actually tested with a synthetic ~15-minute committee meeting, recorded with synthetic voices (never a real microphone) and transcribed by Talo's audio notebook. The minutes captured two decisions already made, each with an owner and a date, and left two more pending, each blocked by a different open question with a named person and a deadline (an outside legal answer, a supplier quote still to arrive). The remaining open questions were explicitly marked as blocking nothing. Full detail in docs/evidence/casos-de-uso-2026-10-17/ inside the repository.
The minutes are only as good as the transcript they come from: if part of the meeting wasn't recorded or wasn't understood well, say so in the minutes as "to confirm" rather than letting Talo fill the gap on its own.
